About Living Room Central
Living Room Central publishes reviews of sofas, chairs, tables, TV stands, storage, rugs and decor, written from the manufacturer’s own published specifications and documentation. We do not sit on, assemble or live with the furniture we review, and every review says so.
What this site is
A furniture listing gives you a width, a depth and a height, a material, a weight rating, a fill or a fibre, and an assembly note, and leaves you to work out whether any of it matters for your room. The reviews here take one piece at a time and read those numbers for what they imply: whether an 84-inch sofa fits a 32-inch doorway, whether a 250-pound rating per seat is generous or the minimum, whether a 0.5-inch pile rug will sit flat under a coffee table, whether a TV stand rated for 65 inches means the width or the weight.
The site covers sofas & sectionals, chairs & recliners, coffee & side tables, tv stands & media consoles, storage & shelving, area rugs and accents, decor & lamps living room pieces. Each review sits in one of those categories, and the categories are what the navigation is built around.
What we do not do
We do not sit on sofas, assemble bookcases, walk on rugs or measure how much a shelf sags. No piece described here has been in a room of ours. A review on this site is a reading of what the manufacturer publishes, written for someone deciding whether that piece fits their room and how they use it, and we would rather say that plainly than imply hands-on experience we do not have.
We do not publish star ratings, review counts, or exact prices. Where a manufacturer has not published a specification, a review says so instead of guessing.
Who writes this
Oliver Bennett, Editor, is the byline on every review. Oliver is an editorial name rather than a person you could look up, and we would rather say so than let a fabricated biography do work it has not earned. There are no trade credentials behind it, and there should not be: a site that states on every page that it does not live with living room pieces has no business presenting an expert as its author.
What stands behind a review is the method, which is written down, and the manufacturer’s published figures, which you can check.
What changed in 2026
For its first year this site reviewed whatever appeared under a living room search, which meant sofa slipcovers, pillow inserts, shoe racks and even air conditioners were reviewed alongside the furniture. In September 2026 we went through all 675 pages and removed 35 from search — slipcovers and sofa protectors, pillow inserts, air conditioners, shoe racks and shoe boxes, a laundry basket, a clothes closet, a mattress and plastic storage bins. The 640 pages that remain are living room pieces. The removed pages still exist for anyone who arrives at them, but they are no longer what this site is about and we no longer ask search engines to index them.

Corrections
If a specification in a review is wrong — the manufacturer restated it, the listing changed, or we misread it — it is worth more to us to know than to look right. The contact page says what makes a correction actionable.
